Payment Terms

These Terms of Payment describe the payment methods accepted on Idolos.mx, the processing times, the conditions of interest-free months and the security with which we treat the customer’s financial data. They are complemented by the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Notice.

Accepted methods of payment

2.1. Credit and debit cards (processor: Openpay)

Card payment processing is done through Openpay, S.A. de C.V., a subsidiary of Banco Mercantil del Norte, S.A., Institución de Banca Múltiple, Grupo Financiero Banorte (BBVA Mexico as acquirer for some products), hereinafter “Openpay”.

We accept:

  • Visa (credit and debit).
  • MasterCard (credit and debit).
  • American Express (credit).
  • Departmental and private label cards when enabled at checkout.

2.2. Interest free months (MSI)

Months Without Interest purchases are available under the following conditions:

  • Terms: 3, 6 and 9 months interest free.
  • Minimum purchase: $2,000.00 MXN.
  • Participating banks: those enabled by Openpay and by the Mexican banking network at the time of purchase (BBVA, Banorte, Santander, HSBC, Citibanamex, Scotiabank, Inbursa, among others). Conditions are updated according to current campaigns and will be shown at checkout before confirming the purchase.
  • No additional promotion: MSI cannot be combined with discount coupons, unless the specific promotion indicates otherwise.

The customer acknowledges that the transaction to MSI is contracted with the bank issuing the card. The cancellation or return of the purchase (see Return Policy) implies that the bank will apply a credit to the card, adjusting the outstanding installments according to its own policies.

2.3. SPEI wire transfer

When the SPEI method is enabled in the checkout, the customer will receive the data of the ÍDOLOS CLABE account and a unique reference number. The transfer must be made within 24 hours after the order is generated, otherwise the order expires automatically.

The order is released for preparation once IDOLOS confirms the SPEI deposit in your bank account, which normally occurs the same business day.

2.4. Cash payment at convenience stores

When enabled, the customer receives at checkout a payment code to go to participating convenience stores (Oxxo, 7-Eleven, Farmacias del Ahorro, etc.) and pay in cash. This code is valid for 72 hours; when it expires, the order is cancelled.

3. Tokenization and PCI-DSS security

IDOLOS does not store the customer’s complete card data. When the customer enters their card at checkout, the information travels directly to Openpay’s servers through an encrypted channel. Openpay returns a token that ÍDOLOS keeps exclusively for processing refunds or recurring charges (when applicable).

Openpay is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified, the highest security standard for electronic payment processing in the world. Data transmission is over HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or higher encryption.

4. Anti-fraud and additional verification

IDOLOS and Openpay apply anti-fraud mechanisms based on rules and machine learning. In transactions flagged as suspicious, we can request:

  • 3D-Secure verification (OTP sent by the issuing bank).
  • Additional confirmation by e-mail or telephone.
  • In exceptional cases: copy of official ID of cardholder and card (partially covered) to validate the match with the buyer’s name.

The customer undertakes to use only means of payment of which it is the legitimate owner or for which it has express authorization from the owner. ÍDOLOS reserves the right to cancel orders when there is reasonable suspicion of fraud, reimbursing the amounts charged.

5. Confirmation of payment

Upon completion of the purchase, the customer receives:

  1. Confirmation screen with order number.
  2. Automatic email with purchase summary and payment status.
  3. In case of success: confirmation of card charge or receipt of SPEI/cash payment.
  4. In case of bank rejection: reason reported by the issuing bank (insufficient balance, expired card, incorrect data, etc.).

If the charge appears on your statement but the customer does not receive a confirmation email, please contact us at [email protected] with the date of the charge and the last 4 digits of the card.

6. Currency, VAT and conversions

  • All prices on idolos.mx are expressed in Mexican pesos (MXN) and include VAT, unless otherwise indicated.
  • For customers with foreign cards, the issuing bank may apply exchange rate conversion at the exchange rate of the day and, if applicable, commissions for international use. ÍDOLOS is not responsible for exchange rate differences.

7. Electronic invoicing (CFDI)

In order to issue an electronic invoice for tax purposes, the customer must send it within the same calendar month of the purchase to [email protected]:

  • Company name.
  • RFC.
  • Tax regime (general, simplified, etc.).
  • Postal code of the tax domicile.
  • Use of CFDI (G01, G03, etc.).
  • E-mail for sending PDF and XML.

Once the calendar month has passed, the SAT does not allow the issuance of the transaction receipt for the closed period. The broadcast is free of charge; ÍDOLOS does not charge for billing.

8. Refunds and reversals

When a refund applies in accordance with the Return Policy:

  • The refund is applied to the same payment method of the original purchase.
  • For card: 5 to 10 business days after approval; statement reflection depends on the bank (may take 1 additional billing cycle).
  • For SPEI: deposit to the CLABE confirmed by the client, in a maximum of 5 business days.
  • For MSI: the bank applies a credit and reorganizes the outstanding installments according to its policies.

ÍDOLOS does not charge a fee for processing refunds. Bank fees or interest charges already accrued with the issuing bank are not refundable by ÍDOLOS and must be cleared directly with the bank.

9. Recurring charges and subscriptions

Idolos.mx does not operate subscription models or automatic recurring charges to date. If in the future products or services are enabled under a subscription model, the specific terms will be communicated at the time of contracting and will require additional express authorization from the client.

10. Fees and commissions

ÍDOLOS does not charge the customer additional fees for the use of electronic means of payment. Processing costs are absorbed by ÍDOLOS, except in exceptional cases duly notified before confirming the purchase (for example, surcharge in international purchases with American Express card, when applicable).

11. Disputes, Chargebacks and Mediation

Before initiating a chargeback process with your issuing bank, please contact us at [email protected] to resolve the incident directly. The vast majority of disputes are resolved in less than 5 business days when communicated in a timely manner and with the detail of the order.

If you decide to proceed with the chargeback, ÍDOLOS will respond to the bank’s request with the corresponding documentation: invoice, waybill with proof of delivery, packaging video, communications with the customer, etc.

ÍDOLOS reserves the right to modify these Terms. Substantial changes will be posted at least 15 calendar days prior to their effective date. Purchases made prior to the effective date will be governed by the Terms in effect at the time of purchase.

13. Privacy and payment data

The processing of personal and financial data is governed by Idolos.mx’s Privacy Notice. Idolos does not store complete card data and works exclusively with PCI-DSS certified processors.
